Beauty and the Beast was a massive success for Disney, gaining over a billion dollars in profit. The Blu-Ray and DVD are set to come out this coming June, and a special BTS video has actor Dan Stevens in his mo-cap suit, shooting his scenes for the Beast (Prince Adam for you die-hard Disney know-it-alls).
Unlike other mo-cap performances, the production didn't have a camera rigged to Stevens during his first performance, so he had to recreate everything with his face again later in the day. Both performances are then meshed together to give us the final product that we saw in the movie.
Granted, it was kind of a huge shock that Beauty and the Beast did as well as it did, and even Emma Watson herself admitted that she thought the movie would make something close to 500 million in profits only.
With the success of this movie though, Disney is now planning to move forward with several other live-action adaptations including ones for movies like Mulan, Dumbo, and a 101 Dalmatians spinoff titled Cruella starring Emma Stone.
The DVD/Blu-Ray for Beauty and the Beast comes out June 6.
