Batman Ninja Getting Manga Adaptation

It doesn't matter if you prefer DC Comics or anime, Batman: Ninja is a good time no matter what is chosen. The visual style took many by surprise and it also has some of the best fights seen in an animated movie. Japan liked it so much that they are making a manga adaptation based on the anime-like movie.

The official website for Monthly Hero (via Anime News Network) confirmed that Batman: Ninja would be a part of Japanese manga magazine this July. Masato Hita of Nobunagun fame will be in charge of the product, though it's not yet clear if it will feature any major differences from the straight-to-home release movie.

Fans who have seen the film know that Batman, Joker, and a number of their allies are transported back to ancient Japan, thanks to the involvement of Flash villain Gorilla Grodd. With some of Arkham's biggest villains trying to take advantage of the country, it's up to Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Red Hood, Catwoman and more to take them down.

Batman: Ninja had a wonderful visual style that used 3D models ala Jojo's Bizarre Adventure. It will be interesting to see what the manga version of this tale looks like and if it can add anything new that the film couldn't.

Fans can pick up the movie now on Blu-Ray and digital outlets.
