The opening of the newest chapter in the Batman mythos is right around the corner. DC fans are thrilled to find out who's been cast on Prime's Batman: Caped Crusader. Well, you're in luck. The streamer just confirmed who's voicing our favorite billionaire/vigilante.
Kevin Conroy is Not in Caped Crusader But Was Planned To Be
The late, great Batman voice actor Kevin Conroy was reportedly returning for a role in Batman: Caped Crusader, but not as the titular Dark Knight Hero, which Bruce Timm previously debunked.
It remains to be seen what Timm had in store for Conroy back then, but either way, Prime recently announced who the new actor will fill in the latter's shoes in the upcoming series.
As a part of the big cast announcement for Batman: Caped Crusader, Hamish Linklater lent his voice for the teaser and eventually revealed that he will be the new titular DC hero on the show.
Hamish Linklater is an American actor who is best known for playing Matthew Kimble in The New Adventures of Old Christine, Andrew Keanelly in The Crazy Ones, and Clark Debussy in Legion.
Linklater earned high acclaim for starring in Netflix's horror series Midnight Mass and won Best Actor in a Horror Series and Best Dramatic TV Performance. Still, fans expressed divisive reactions over this casting choice:

Working alongside Hamish, we've got Christina Ricci as the jewel thief Catwoman and her alter ego Selina Kyle, Diedrich Bader is Gotham City district's attorney Harvey Dent, and Jamie Chung is Harley Quinn aka Dr. Harleen Quinzel.
Meanwhile, the rest of the cast in undisclosed roles are as follows: McKenna Grace, Toby Stephens, Reid Scott, Dan Donohue, Gary Anthony Williams, Jason Watkins, John Dimaggio, Krystal Joy Brown, Michelle C. Bonilla, Eric Morgan Stuart, Tom Kenny, Minnie Driver, and many more!
As for what fans can expect from Caped Crusader, the all-new animated series is a reimagining of the Batman mythology through the recreation of executive producers Bruce Timm, J.J. Abrams, and Matt Reeves.
"His one-man crusader for justice attracts unexpected allies within the GCPD and City Hall," the official synopsis said, "But his heroic actions spawn deadly, unforeseen ramifications."

The 10-episode Batman: Caped Crusader will welcome fans into Gotham City on August 1 on Prime.
