John Cena has made a huge name for himself from WWE to Hollywood as he transitions from being a wrestler to an actor and he has scored a lot of projects along the way -- the latest being Barbie movie and he reveals how he score his role there.
From the WWE screens to his movies, John Cena has already put on lotsa of hats throughout his career including roles in Fast & Furious, Peacemaker, and more, this time, he's Merman Ken in the upcoming Barbie movie alongside Margot Robbie and more.
The live-action Barbie movie boasts the colorful world of the famous titular doll to the big screens under the direction of the Academy Award nominee Greta Gerwig.
The cast of Barbie is composed of various versions of Barbie and Ken, one of which is scored by John Cena as he would play Merman Ken.
During the promotion of Fast X where John Cena would reprise his role, the actor reveals to TODAY with Hoda & Jenna how he got the role in Barbie.
Cena shares, "I haven't worked with Margot before. We literally randomly ran into each other as friends. Fast X was filming across the street from Barbie. And [she asked], 'Why don't you do Barbie?' I said, 'I've been trying!'"
Cena reveals the level of Margot's involvement in the decisions for the movie, "Margot makes a lot of the decisions for that and I said, 'Well, I'll do whatever you need.'"
Cena even compares Barbie to Fast X, “It was a happy accident and I think that Barbie and Fast X share a lot of parallels. The cast list is amazing, the Barbie cast list is amazing, the Fast X cast list is amazing.”

As fate would have willed it, John Cena scored the role of Merman Ken and he would be making an appearance alongside other Ken dolls like Ryan Gosling, Simu Liu, Ncuti Gatwa, Kingsley Ben-Adir, and Scott Evans.
Barbie will follow the titular doll that forever changed the playing ground for all toys, which will also have some background on how the infamous Mattel doll came to life.
Other than Ken and Barbie, Barbie movie will also be featuring other Mattel dolls like Midge and Allan.
Of all the dolls that would be featured, it would be Margot Robbie's Barbie and Ryan Gosling's Ken that would be the central characters of the film.
