Namor finally made his MCU debut recently in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Tenocha Huerta's villainous performance as the character in the film was received well by the critics and the audience and it prompted their excitement to see more of him in the future of the MCU.
Since Marvel Studios can't do a solo Namor project due to rights issues and they haven't announced a future film or TV series that he will be featured in, there have been questions about what's next for the character and whether we will see him team up with the heroes or villains in the MCU.
Now, it looks like we have the answer as Avengers: The Kang Dynasty writer Jeff Loveness has confirmed in a recent interview with ComicBook.com that Namor is set to appear in the film as he namedropped the character while discussing his excitement on penning the upcoming team-up movie.
"Namor, man. I'm excited to write Namor," he simply said.
This is certainly the first confirmation that we've heard from someone involved in Marvel Studios regarding the character's future in the MCU and it is exciting to hear the possibility that he might be joining or working together with the Avengers when we see them face Kang in the film.
It also suggests that Namor will be making a heroic turn at some point in the future (at least from the point-of-view of the audience) and he may end up joining the Avengers which is similar to what we've seen in the comics as we have seen him team-up with several Marvel heroes through the decades.
Since the film is still miles away, it might take a while before we'll hear more details about it, but it seems that we could be seeing some sprinkle of information as the project is still in the writing process right now. Who knows, maybe they'll also end up not using Namor in the film and this might just be an early idea that will not manifest.
