Avengers: Infinity War Home Release Confirms One Survivor From Thor: Ragnarok

Avengers: Infinity War had too many casualties right from its opening scene. However, it looks like one character from Thor: Ragnarok actually survived the disturbing massacre.

The film opened with Ebony Maw addressing Thor as he walked over the corpses of the Asgardians in the Odinson's ship. The scene quickly disposed of Heimdall and Loki as the Odinson mourned over their deaths but there was no sign of Valkyrie, Korg, and Miek. Luckily, the Infinity War home release has somehow revealed the fate of the missing characters.

According to Gizmodo, Joe and Anthony Russo stated in the home release that several people managed to escape before the annihilation began. The directors confirmed that Valkyrie was one of the characters who found an escape pod. It is unclear why Tessa Thompson's warrior chose to abandon the ship but the revelation is still welcome news.

The Russo Brothers may have solved one mystery but they did not say anything about the other Thor: Ragnarok characters. Although fans are hoping that Korg and Miek are somewhere trying to start another revolution, it is more likely that they both stayed behind to fight Thanos and the Black Order.

It was also revealed that killing Heimdall and Loki appeared effortless to reaffirm Thanos' power. This is why the directors chose to have the Mad Titan destroy the indestructible Tesseract so easily.

Marvel Studios has not yet confirmed if Thompson will reprise her role as Valkyrie in future movies.

Avengers: Infinity War is currently available for digital download. The Blu-ray release is on August 14.
