Avengers: Infinity War Director Says That Avengers 4 Could Be Three Hours Long

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War

Now that Avengers: Infinity War is simmering down as it finishes its theatrical run, all eyes are turned towards the film's sequel, Avengers 4.

After Thanos massacre on the universe in Avengers: Infinity War, fans are expecting to see the remaining Avengers undo the Mad Titan's hard work and word has it that Avengers 4 would last even longer than the first installment in Marvel's two-part Avengers movie.

According to directors Joe and Anthony Russo, the film could very well be much, much longer than Infinity War, telling Collider that fans could probably be looking at a 3-hour-long run for Avengers 4.

"It's pretty long," Joe Russo told the publication when asked about the run-time fans could expect from the film. "I don't want to say how long it is because people tend to get really excited. Also, I don't know that you can really call it a rough cut, it's more of an assembly."

Though the director does tease the possibility of a three-hour film, he also warns fans not to expect too much because even though Avengers 4 has their longest rough cut, they're the kind of directors who're "very hard on the material."

"We like it to play at a certain pace, so I'm sure we'll squeeze it. We have a whole year of work left in that movie. I do think it'll be longer than Avengers 3," the director added.

What's even more interesting is that the directors previously told fans that they hadn't even finished shooting the sequel, so the two probably have even more material to work with. We wonder how everything's going to turn out.

Avengers: Infinity War is currently screening in cinemas. Avengers 4 premieres May 4, 2019.
