Black Panther Producer Says T’Challa Could Be Replaced

Warning: This article contains spoilers for Avengers: Infinity War.

Chadwick Boseman's T'Challa became an easy favorite when he first appeared in the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Captain America: Civil War, but after the events of Avengers: Infinity War, things might become very different for the king and the nation of Wakanda.

Fans who've already seen Avengers: Infinity War know that at the very end of the film Thanos manages to collect all of the Infinity Stones and complete his mission. Snapping his fingers, the Mad Titan wipes away half of the universe – one of which includes Black Panther.

Though there's been a lot of speculation that the remaining Avengers might be able to undo Thanos finger-snapping massacre by traveling through time, Black Panther producer Nate Moore tells Screen Rant that Black Panther isn't restricted to one person.

"One thing I like to tell Ryan is, the Black Panther is a mantle as much as it is a person, so we're not restricted by anything, because the truth is, there's a lot of different ways to go back to Wakanda and have a good time and continue to explore the themes that made the first film so resonant," Moore told the publication.

Sure it might be devastating to see Boseman's Black Panther go, there are other interesting candidates for the superhero mantle. In the comics, Shuri becomes the Black Panther after T'Challa ends up in a coma. Shuri's also been a fan-favorite, so it's not difficult to see the brilliant Wakandan Princess taking up the role. Besides, there's been a strong push for female-centric films in Marvel.
