Avengers: Endgame Theory Suggests The Avengers Will Move On Instead Of Undoing Thanos’ Snappening

After seeing their favorite heroes turned into dust at the snap of Thanos' fingers in Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel fans have come to expect a certain game plan for Avengers: Endgame. Though there have been noticeable variations in its execution, many believe that Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.) and the rest of the remaining Avengers are going to travel time to undo the Mad Titan's massacre in the upcoming film. But what if the snap can't actually be undone?

Playing on an old theory that suggests that the snapped half of the universe's living population are actually alive and well in an alternate reality, Reddit user Enervata says that Endgame might not actually undo the snappening but instead focus on how the Avengers move forward with their lives

According to this theory, heroes like Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Spider-Man (Tom Holland), Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen) and Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman) will only have faint memories of the past lives that they lived. This is how the Marvel Cinematic Universe will continue as it moves on to Phase 4, allowing room for the arrival of the X-Men, Fantastic Four, and all of Fox's other mutants after Disney's acquisition.

While the theory is certainly unconventional, it would certainly be interesting to see directors Joe and Anthony Russo take on an unexpected path in resolving the snappening in Avengers: Endgame. But then again, that would make the film more of a drama than a superhero film.

Avengers: Endgame premieres April 26, 2019.
