Avengers: Endgame Star Mark Ruffalo Says Hulk Was Nearly Killed In Infinity War

Hulk barely came out in Avengers: Infinity War, hiding away after getting beaten by Thanos (Josh Brolin) during the opening of the movie. Now, Mark Ruffalo says that Hulk was very closely turned into a victim of the Mad Titan's Decimation, the snappening that killed half of the living population of the universe in the film.

Going about the rounds to help promote Marvel's next film, Avengers: Endgame, the spoiler-giving Ruffalo decided to open up about Hulk's actual fate in Infinity War in an interview together with Yahoo. According to the actor, he really didn't know Banner's true fate until he saw the film for himself – a part of him always believed that he'd be dusted because he did two scenes – one where he survived and one where he died along with the others.

"For one take, I did disappear, and then the other one I didn't," Ruffalo told the publication.

"I was pretty sure it was gonna be me," the actor admitted. "It's like Survivor. It's like, who's gonna get kicked off the island? And I probably should've. … It's like Project Runway for leakers."

Of course, we find it difficult to believe that Joe and Anthony Russo would just dust off one of the original six like that, especially when Bruce Banner has had a hard time getting Hulk to work with him in Infinity War. The film's sequel, Endgame, is supposed to culminate the last ten years of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, so it's only natural for the film to put its focus on the original six Avengers.

Avengers: Endgame premieres April 26, 2019.
