Upon the launch of Disney+, Marvel fans discovered that Avengers: Endgame had the 13 Reasons Why star Katherine Langford's scene with Robert Downey Jr.'s Iron Man on the streaming platform. The Soul World scene got fans quite emotional, and Langford revealed the very reason why the scene was eventually added in the movie.
The actress recently made an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon where she talked about working with Downey and the Russo brothers. Fallon mentioned that the Marvel fans loved the scene, and that they approved of it. To which Langford responded, "I heard that's why it's out though." Seemingly revealing the reason why the House of Mouse added the scene on Disney+.
"That's what I was told," she added. The actress claimed that the scene was out because "people wanted to see it." Langford pointed out that the fans' response to the scenes was "really cool."
She also described how it's "totally fine" for her scene to get cut out in the film. Langford thinks that it creatively made sense, and that she was just honored to have worked with Downey on his "last scene" and "last day" as Iron Man, and being to play as his daughter in the movie. "I was just content with having the memory in my head," Langford pointed out.
Personally, I think the scene was a great addition. Especially for the fans who would have wanted a satisfying resolution on Tony Stark's death, and even the bonus of having to see Stark with his daughter for one last time.
