Avengers 4: Is This Supposed to be Iron Man's Proton Cannon?

A lot of people are waiting on the release of Avengers 4 next year, but until Marvel decides, we don't have that much plot to work on. A new set photo, however, has leaked online, and some think that it's a possible nod to Iron Man from the Marvel vs. Capcom games.

Check it out:

As the post suggests, it's possible that this could be Iron Man's "Proton Canon". In the game, Iron Man could pull out a comically large gun called his proton cannon as a super move. Seeing that the MCU is grounded in reality, it would be ridiculous if Iron Man just pulled something like that out of thin air, but I wouldn't be surprised if he lugged that out in a battlefield, put it on his shoulder, and fired it at Thanos.

Just to see what that might look like, Boss Logic also made some concept art of Iron Man wielding the proton cannon with the Stark Industries logo on it.

Then again, this device could be something completely different. If it isn't a proton cannon, I'm thinking it's some kind of device that will help the Avengers travel through time. Maybe it can even be based on the Quantum Realm entrance that we see in Ant-Man and the Wasp.

Since we have yet to get anything official on A4 from Marvel Studios, our guess is just as good as yours.

Catch Avengers 4 when it hits theaters May 3, 2019.
