Avatar: The Last Airbender's Cabbage Merchant Celebrates Cabbage Day

In case you missed it, National Cabbage Day was celebrated on Friday, February 17. However, one person who didn't forget is the one and only Cabbage Man. James Sie, who will reprise his role as the Cabbage Merchant in Netflix's live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender, made sure to celebrate the underrated vegetable.

James Sie took to his official Instagram account where he shared a video to celebrate National Cabbage Day. In his video, Sie reveals an awesome cabbage shirt that would please Cabbage Man himself. He also admits that he almost missed the celebration but luckily, a friend had reminded him about the holiday. Watch it here.

We're loving the shirt and James Sie's enthusiasm for all things cabbage. Needless to say, we can't wait to see his live-action debut as the Cabbage Merchant in Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender.

It was previously confirmed that James Sie was eager to play the live-action Cabbage Merchant in the Netflix series. “Of course, now I’m more at the age of what the cabbage merchant was then. I will cultivate that little beard if they need me to,” Sie told Slate in 2020. “And because my face is quite expressive, I’m perfect for a live-action version of an animated show. I’m ready.”

The live-action Avatar: The Last Airbender series will also star Gordon Cormier as Aang, Dallas Liu as Zuko, Kiawentiio Tarbell as Katara, Ian Ousley as Sokka, Paul Sun-Hyung Lee as Uncle Iroh, and Daniel Dae Kim as Fire Lord Ozai. They will be joined by Maria Zhang as Suki, Yvonne Chapman as Kyoshi, Casey Camp-Horinek as Kanna and Tamlyn Tomita as Yukari, a completely new character.

The new series has not yet been given an official release date. However, production has just wrapped and we could be getting news soon. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
