Game of Thrones has indeed given birth to several big stars that continue to dominate the acting industry, including Emilia Clarke, Sophie Turner, Maisie Williams, Natalie Dormer, Lena Headey, Kit Harrington, Pedro Pascal, and Peter Dinklage, among others. Being that Hollywood is a place where anyone has the chance to ride to stardom, one minor character from Game of Thrones will try to take the leap from one giant franchise to another global phenomenon, which is Avatar 3.
According to Empire, Oona Chaplin is set to play Varang, the leader of the fire nation on Pandora. In the first two films, viewers have been introduced to the forest people, the Omaticaya, and the water tribe, the Metkayina. With that, Chaplin might be frontlining the fire tribe, the Ash People, in Avatar 3. Rumor has it that the Ash People are the antagonists in the next film, taking the fight from humans to the Na’vi.
To refresh your memory, Chaplin appeared in 11 episodes of the HBO drama series set in Westeros. She showed up in Season 2 as Talisa Maegyr, a battlefield nurse who meets Robb Stark in his campaign to take the Iron Throne. She eventually marries the elder Stark brother and is by his side until they both meet their untimely ends at the end of Season 3 in the infamous Red Wedding. The actress managed to get some attention for her brief portrayal in Game of Thrones.

In the first two films of the highest-grossing film franchise, Avatar and Avatar: The Way of Water, Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) goes native with the Na'vi after falling in love with one of them and giving up his human purpose. In the sequel, humans are once again the villains, as Quaritch (Stephen Lang) returns to seek retribution on the traitor, only to discover that he has a son among the Na'vi. Chaplin and Avatar 3 are expected to demonstrate that there are good and bad on both sides of the war between humans and Na'vi by introducing villains among the Na'vi.
After the global success of the first film and now with Avatar: The Way of Water approaching $2 billion at the worldwide box office, James Cameron is indeed anticipating the development of more Pandora films. Franchise producer Jon Landau discussed how good and evil will be highlighted in the threequel.
“There are good humans, and there are bad humans - the same thing on the Navi side - but oftentimes, people don't see themselves as bad," Landau teased. "What is the root cause of how they evolve into what we perceive as bad? Maybe there are other factors there that we're not aware of.” said Landau.
