Avatar 2 Set Photo Hints at Kate Winslet's Mysterious Winged Character

There is little doubt that people are curious about the premise of Avatar 2 considering that the sequel's storyline seems to be a huge secret. For instance, we don't even know anything about the character that Kate Winslet will portray in the highly anticipated film. Luckily, a new set photo offers a glimpse at Winslet at work and it looks like she will be playing a mysterious winged creature.

The set photo was shared by the official Avatar Twitter account and it features Winslet underwater with what appears to be a massive cape. Check it out below.

"From Kate Winslet's recent interview in @THR: 'I had to learn how to free-dive to play that role in Avatar, and that was just incredible. My longest breath hold was seven minutes and 14 seconds, like crazy, crazy stuff,'" the caption reads.

It's amazing to see Winslet in top form and doing an awesome stunt for the sequel. Unfortunately, it may still take some time before we find out more about the character she portrays in the film. Hopefully, we'll finally get to see what the character looks like when the first teaser for Avatar 2 is released.

Avatar 2 will bring back Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, Giovanni Ribisi, Joel David Moore, Dileep Rao, CCH Pounder, and Matt Gerald. In addition to Winslet, new cast members include Cliff Curtis, Edie Falco, Brendan Cowell, Michelle Yeoh, Jemaine Clement, Oona Chaplin, CJ Jones, and Vin Diesel. The sequel is scheduled for release on December 16, 2022.
