Attack on Titan’s New Visual Suggests Ultimate Face-off

In just a matter of months, Attack on Titan fans can expect the second season's animation to debut on TV.

And while we already know that it will entail a face-off with Eren Jaeger in titan form versus the other Titans that are coming to force humanity back inside the Wall even further, a new visual via Funimation shows the different characters who will be playing big roles in the fray.

The visual itself holds a couple of hints as to the points that may be touched on during the second season. Some spoilers from here on, for those who haven't read the manga yet.

At the forefront, we see the potential main characters, whose stories we'll finally get to see. Notice that Mikasa Ackerman and Armin Arlert are not featured as much in the spotlight compared to Eren's other comrades from the 104^th Training Corps squad. Instead, we see Bertolt Hoover, Reiner Braun, Ymir, and Krista Lenz looking very sinister, and for good reason. We know that each of them is hiding a secret, and the second season just might tap into those backstories.

One good hint to that is the image at the bottom, where Eren finally faces off with the Armored Titan, with the Colossal Titan possibly in the far middle.

We also see Captain Levi dressed in a suit instead of the trademark Survey Corps uniform and cape. This may be hinting back to the trailer released earlier, which shows him talking to one Minister Nick, where they are discussing one of the 104 batch members hiding knowledge about the wall.

There's also the hint of another character coming in, if you look at the top left side of the image. Manga readers and those who may have played the Attack on Titan game from Koei Tecmo may be familiar with who (or what) this particular character is.

Attack on Titan will supposedly air on April 1, though I'm still crossing my fingers that it's not a big April Fools' joke.
