Final Fantasy XV Director Talks Progress for PC and VR Content

The latest Final Fantasy game from Square Enix has received some mixed feedback. Perhaps its most controversial part is Chapter 13, which is expected to get an update that considers fan experience and feedback.

Game Director Hajime Tabata revealed in the Weekly Famitsu (translated by Gematsu) some of its other plans for the game, particularly the content outside the currently released platform.

For instance, there's virtual reality content, which fans are looking forward to truly experiencing beyond sample demos. According to Tabata, the development is progressing, but in a rather slow pace. For now, the team cannot yet reveal when exactly it can be released.

He also touched on the PC port, though from the looks of it, nothing is really set in stone yet.

"I want to show PC users Final Fantasy XV running on high-end machines, and we personally woud like to see it, too. Also, I would like to try developing on PC to pursue a unique way of playing with PC-exclusive features like making your own quests and enjoying the world using things like mods."

The mention of mods may make some hardcore gamers and Final Fantasy fans very, very happy, but here's hoping that we'll get more updates about the project. For now, it seems that Tabata and the others are mostly expressing their interest in the what-ifs that a PC could achieve for Final Fantasy XV.

Final Fantasy XV is already out on the PS4 and Xbox One. Its first major story DLC update will be released on March 28 featuring Gladio's perspective.
