The Attack on Titan anime ended just recently, and while no new anime is in the works, an intriguing video game adaptation was originally set to launch late this year. Sadly, that will no longer be the case as Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable has been delayed yet again, this time to later in 2024.

This upcoming virtual reality game’s delay is a shame, especially as it’s a promising adaptation of the series. After all, it is an ambitious title that promises to make players feel what it would be like to be a Scout.

Attack on Titan is one of the most popular anime of the last decade. Thus, it’s no surprise that the anime has inspired numerous video game adaptations, ranging from consoles to mobile games.

There have also been many collaborations with other popular games such as Dead by Daylight last year and Fortnite earlier this year.

Soon, Attack on Titan is going to get yet another video game, but this new one will be different as it’s a VR experience for Meta Quest.

Titled Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable, the game puts players in the shoes of a Scout Regiment member. As a VR game, players will get to have an immersive, first-person experience of being a Scout with the ODM gear.

As shown in the reveal trailer, this game will see players face off against fearsome Titans. What’s more, players will be able to enjoy the game with a companion as Unbreakable will have a two-player co-op mode.

This upcoming VR game was originally scheduled to be released in Summer 2023. The game missed its initial launch window and was then delayed to Winter 2024.

Now that we’re nearly in the final month of the year, Unbreakable has been delayed yet again. This time, the game’s release has been moved to the second half of 2024.

The game’s delay was announced via the developer UNIVRS’ official X (formerly Twitter) account. UNIVRS shared an official message there, stating that the staff will need more time to complete the game.

This new delay may not be great news for fans, but alarm bells shouldn’t be rung just yet. After all, this isn’t UNIVRS’ first anime VR game as the studio also developed the Little Witch Academia VR title.

For now, there’s no word yet on an exact release date for Attack on Titan VR: Unbreakable. What is certain is that it will be launched in the second half of 2024 on the Meta Quest 3, Meta Quest 2, and Meta Quest Pro.
