Fans got exactly what they wanted in the premiere episode of Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2, from the epic rematch between Eren Yeager and Reiner Braun to Mikasa Ackerman's emotional return. However, Episode 76 also revealed some interesting details about Eren's grand scheme which also involves Zeke Yeager!
In Attack on Titan Episode 76, it was confirmed that Zeke survived despite being torn in half by the Thunder Spear. As it turns out, Zeke was treated by a mysterious girl in a mystical place known as the "Paths."
Zeke's survival was a shock but is also key to his and Eren's next plans. As Gabi and Pieck are reunited with Magath, Pieck points out that Eren isn't using his full potential in the fight against Reiner and Porco Galliard. She then suggests that Eren is waiting for the right moment to strike.
That's when Gabi shares what she has overheard where Zeke states that they now have the Founding Titan and a Titan with royal blood. With everyone assuming the latter is Zeke himself, Pieck declares that they will have to keep Eren from reaching Zeke to prevent a terrifying disaster.
The idea of Eren and Zeke waiting for the right moment to strike makes sense but it's cool that Pieck and Gabi were able to figure out their shocking plans. Zeke is already heading back to unite with Eren and there is little doubt that the Marleyans will do everything in their power to stop them. But will the two manage to go through with their masterplan? The truth will be revealed in Attack on Titan Episode 77.
Attack on Titan Season 4 Part 2 Episode 2 is titled Sneak Attack ("Damashi Uchi") which is a clear reference to the manga's Chapter 118. The 77th episode of the anime will premiere on Monday, January 17, 2022, at 12:05 AM JST.
