Attack on Titan’s finale is shaping up to be dark and potentially bittersweet, but this new merch line is anything but. Recently, Attack on Titan teamed up once again with Sanrio, this time for a Gudetama collab.

As with pretty much all Sanrio anime collaborations, this latest one features a lot of merch that fans will want to collect.

Unlike other Sanrio crossovers though, only Gudetama is featured here instead of the company’s main roster.

Not the First Time Attack on Titan Teamed Up With Sanrio

Attack on Titan is one of the most popular anime around the world, and it is renowned for its grim story. In fact, its dark premise and numerous character deaths are among the key reasons it got a lot of attention.

Despite how dark it is, that hasn’t stopped Attack on Titan from teaming up with Sanrio, a company that’s best known for its adorable characters like Hello Kitty.

Sanrio is no stranger to anime collabs as the company has teamed up with titles like Oshi no Ko and Lycoris Recoil. But it’s fair to say that these collabs are a nice match visually.

The same can’t be said with Attack on Titan as the military-like design of its characters clashes with Sanrio’s cutesy designs.

Surprisingly, the collab worked, possibly as a palate cleanser for fans given the show’s grim events.

From the looks of it, the previous collaboration was successful enough, as the two are back with another crossover.

The previous collab featured popular Sanrio characters like Hello Kitty, My Melody, and Pochacco, among others.

Now though, Attack on Titan’s collaboration is specifically with Gudetama, Sanrio’s adorable depressed egg.

Aside from celebrating the upcoming anime finale, this collaboration is also made to mark Gudetama’s 10th anniversary.

As expected, this collab features a bunch of merch, including acrylic stands, postcards, clear files, can badges, and plushies.

Most of the items in the merch collection feature illustrations of five AOT characters with Gudetama. These characters include Eren, Mikasa, Armin, Levi, and Hange.

Pre-orders for these products will open on November 10, 2023. Each person is limited to only two boxes or items, likely given the expected demand and to prevent resellers.

For now, it seems that this collaboration will only be released in Japan.
