There are several (at least two major) reasons why fans couldn't get enough of Attack on Titan Episode 82. In addition to showing us more of Annie Leonhart's awesome return, the 23rd episode of The Final Season also brought back Hange Zoe and Levi Ackerman. But is it possible that we also got a tease at a possible sequel to the franchise? There are speculations that the latest episode of Season 4 Part 2 dropped a small hint about a spin-off focusing on the Cadet Corps soldiers!
In Attack on Titan Episode 82, the Cadet Corps soldiers are shown apologizing to their head instructor Keith Shadis for taking the Jaegerists' side. However, Keith assures them that they are doing the right thing and their obedience will eventually pay off. Interestingly, Keith later states that "there may come a day for you to rise" but "until then" he tells the recruits to "try not to lose yourselves."
It might seem like a line that offers hope to the soldiers but there are speculations that this is more than just a throwaway line. Some believe that Keith dropped a clue on what could happen once the anime concludes later this year. Is it possible that we'll see Keith heading another coup in the future? We may get an update soon.
For now, there have been no updates on what will happen to the franchise once the anime concludes this year. However, fans believe there is a chance that there will be a few spin-offs after the main storyline ends in April. Stay tuned for more updates on this story.
Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 24 is titled Pride ("Kyoji") and shares its title with Chapter 126 of the manga. Episode 83 will air on Monday, February 21, 2022, at 12:05 AM JST.
