Attack on Titan Director Teases Season 3 Highlights

The finale for the second season of Attack on Titan had been a surprising and action-packed one. Quite frankly, the entire season had been a roller coaster ride of surprise and intense reveals, and we're still reeling from the abruptness and unexpected end.

I guess that's all the more reason why the announcement of an immediate season 3 has made the hype even more bearable. In a new interview with series director Tetsuo Araki (translation via Comicbook.com), he shared a few questions and thoughts that season 3 will most likely tackle when it returns:

"Will the person wearing glasses at the end of season 2 play a part in season 3? Will everyone be able to survive? Will somebody die? It's hard to know. Look forward to the next season. We're still having fun making Attack on Titan."

Araki stressed that even though the anime is on break, they are currently working on it at full speed. I'm very much interested in the events that will happen in season 3. For starters, we're (at least for non-manga readers) looking forward to knowing who exactly that man with glasses is.

It's easy to assume that he's the Beast Titan, but what he is, and more importantly, what his role is in the whole scheme of the Titans, the Walls' mysteries, and what lies beyond it. And honestly, I'm just really thankful that the creators won't take as long to create the next season. Can you imagine if we had to wait the same amount of time that we did to get this season?

Attack on Titan will be back for its third (hopefully longer) season in 2018.
