Astro’s Cha Eun Woo may work together with Ryu Seung Ryong in an upcoming comedy K-drama Dak Gang Jeong. If this happens, the veteran actor may reunite with the Extreme Job director Lee Byung Hun.
Both Cha Eun Woo and Ryu Seung Ryong are reportedly in talks to do the new series titled after a sweet and spicy Korean fried chicken dish. So, will fans see them together in Dak Gang Jeong?
Ryu Seung Ryong May Join Cha Eun Woo, Lee Byung Hun in Dak Gang Jeong
Soompi reported that Ryu Seung Ryong might join Cha Eun Woo in Dak Gang Jeong. However, in a phone call with Dispatch, his agency, Prain Global, cleared its talent was still in talks to do the drama.
The negotiation is probably still going and no concrete decision has been made yet.
“Ryu Seung Ryong has received a casting offer for the drama Dak Gang Jeong,'” an agency representative said, “He is currently only at the stage of reviewing the offer.”

For context, Dak Gang Jeong is based on a webtoon drama with the same name. It’s about a mysterious machine that turns people into fried chicken. It will be written and directed by director Lee Byung Hun.
Cha Eun Woo to Lead Dak Gang Jeong
However, just like Ryu Seung Ryong, Cha Eun Woo is still in talks to do Dak Gang Jeong.
The Astro member’s involvement in the series was first reported in August 2021. At the time, News1 claimed, via Soompi, that the singer-actor received an offer to do the series.
Later, his agency, Fantagio, released a statement about the reports.

“Director Lee Byung Hun’s Dak Gang Jeong is one of the projects that [Cha Eun Woo] was offered,” the company’s rep revealed. “A decision has not been made yet.”
The show will reportedly have 12 episodes and is still in the casting process.
Cha Eun Woo’s Other K-Drama Projects
Meanwhile, aside from Dak Gang Jeong, Cha Eun Woo is working on several other projects. As one of the most in-demand actors in the business, he’s set to lead another upcoming K-drama, This Relationship is Uncontrollable.
“This Relationship Is Uncontrollable is one of the projects he has received an offer for, and he is currently reviewing the offer,” Fantagio revealed.
The series is about the uncontrollable romance between a woman who receives a forbidden text that was sealed 300 years ago and a man who becomes the sacrifice for the forbidden text.

The new show will be written by Noh Ji Seol and directed by Nam Ki Hoon.
If Cha Eun Woo accepts the role, he will be seen as Jang Shin Yoo, a lawyer and the legal advisor of the city of Onjoo. He has an incredible look, the best manner of speech and good behavior.
