ASTRO will have a busy year once they drop their new music.

Amid the COVID-19 pandemic, ASTRO became one of the K-pop groups that remain active in the industry. Over the past months, they served new music to fans and garnered recognition in return.

They released their second full-length album All Yours, and eighth extended play, Switch On, last year. Both projects made them earn music show trophies that pushed them to the spotlight even more.

For this year, the K-pop boy group is reportedly cooking something for fans.

ASTRO Comeback Finally Happening

On Tuesday, several sources claimed that ASTRO is currently preparing for their May comeback months after marking their last return.

In response to the early reports, a source from the boy group’s agency, Fantagio, revealed to TopStarNews that the Hide & Seek hitmaker would indeed return with a new album.

If they release it in May, it would mark their first comeback since dropping their mini-album, Switch On, in August 2021. It serves as good news after one of its members, Cha Eun Woo, tested positive for COVID-19 weeks ago.

“Today (18th), ASTRO artist Cha Eun-woo conducted a preemptive rapid antigen test due to poor condition and confirmed that it was positive,” Fantagio said. “Currently, Cha Eun-woo has no symptoms other than mild cold symptoms, and will focus on treatment and recovery according to the guidelines of the Covid-19 quarantine authorities.”

While waiting for their new gig, the group has been busy promoting their sub-units.

ASTRO Members Receive Massive Support

Recently, the members have been focusing on their solo and unit activities.

Cha Eun Woo has been active in the acting industry, especially since he has been tapped to play a role in Island alongside Kim Nam Gil, Lee Da Hee, and Sung Joon. Jinjin & Rocky marked their debut with mini-album Restore.

Meanwhile, Moonbin & Sanha tripled their first-week sales record after dropping REFUGE. Hanteo Chart revealed that the release sold 137,755 copies, smashing their previous record 47,898 sales with IN-OUT.
