Assassin’s Creed Movie’s New Stunt Will Grab Your Attention

Assassin's Creed the movie seems bent on making history in more ways than one. With several early reviews coming in and promising that the movie has broken the videogame movie curse, the project is aiming to pull off another "making history" moment.

In a new teaser from Channel 4, actor Michael Fassbender talks about the planned stunt happening on Dec. 18, Sunday. Specifically, it is a live ad stunt where a stuntman will make the Leap of Faith dive from 100-feet off the ground live on Channel 4.

According to Fassbender, director Justin Kurzel also wanted to go with the old-school feel of the stunt. Instead of a taped footage in CGI, it will be real people in real locations.

"The leap of faith obviously is when all other options have been exhausted. It's a physical thing, for sure, the idea of jumping into nothing. But there's also a philosophical element to it, which is cool. And that you're sort of giving yourself over to fate and the gods."

For the stunt, stuntman Dave Grant will be part of the first live TV ad, where he will be doing the Leap of Faith by plummeting headfirst down several stories.

This very much mimics what the production crew had aimed to do in Assassin's Creed the movie—less reliance on CGI, more on shooting the movie in actual geographic locations with real people.

Perhaps this is the very reason why Assassin's Creed may be one of the few videogame movies that would finally give justice to its original material.

Assassin's Creed will be out in theaters on Dec. 21.
