Ashley Eckstein on Whether She Could Play Live-Action Ahsoka Tano in The Mandalorian Season 2

At this point, fans are convinced that Ahsoka Tano will show up in The Mandalorian Season 2 although Disney has not yet confirmed whether the character will be a part of the show's ongoing storyline. But is there any chance that voice actress Ashley Eckstein could actually portray a live-action version of her Star Wars character in the series? The Star Wars: The Clone Wars actress has spoken up about the possibility.

Eckstein was recently a guest on the Comicbook Nationpodcast and not surprisingly, the conversation shifted to the possibility that voice actors could play the characters they play. Interestingly, Eckstein pointed out that she actually started out as an actress before she landed her first voice acting job.

"Voice acting is acting and some people say, 'Oh well, she's just a voice actress.' No, actually Ahsoka was my first voiceover job. I was primarily a film and television actress before I became Ahsoka so I do all sorts of live-action and film and television but the only reason I bring that up is not even for myself," Eckstein said. She then stated that her fellow voice actors are just as talented as the ones who appear in films and shows.

"Voice acting is acting and some of the most brilliant actors I've ever met are voice actors. I mean Corey Burton, who is the voice of Count Dooku and Cad Bane, is probably one of the most brilliant actors I've ever witnessed in my life. So I only say that just because I think it's important to speak up for voice actors. We're all actors at the end of the day," Eckstein said.

But what are the chances that she will play Ahsoka in live-action? Eckstein was quick to point out that she might not get cast, she would still support the character whole-heartedly.

For now, there are speculations that Rosario Dawson has been cast as Ahsoka in The Mandalorian Season 2. However, we will need to wait for an official confirmation from Disney about this.

The Mandalorian Season 2 is expected to air on Disney+ in October.
