Arrow May Have a Guillermo del Toro-Directed Episode in the Future

Guillermo del Toro has been known for the macabre and the morbid when it comes to his movies and effects. But if the renowned director will take up a current "open invitation," we may see his first dabbles in the world of superhero television series.

Speaking to Comicbook.com, Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim revealed that his team-up with del Toro in Trollhunters was what made him open up to the idea. In reference to the possibility of him working to direct an episode of the DC Comics TV series, Guggenheim said:

"I'd be lying if I said I never broached the topic with him. He's so busy and he is filming right now actually up in Toronto. He's got a standing invitation."

The rather serious tone that Arrow takes on, compared to the lighter, in-character humor appeal of The Flash, may work well with the brand of work that del Toro has under his name.

I'd also be lying if I said I wouldn't become suddenly interested in the Arrow TV series if this invitation is accepted.

Del Toro's Trollhunters is set for Netflix in December. From the looks of the trailer, seen above, it's shaping up to be the amusing and visually entertaining series.
