Are We Going To See Jason Momoa Don The Classic Orange/Green Aquaman Costume?

Aquaman is usually the butt of every superhero joke because of how corny he looked in the comics, but the character is going to get a whole badass revamp for Zack Snyder's Justice League. Though we've seen him don some Atlantean armor in the trailers, there's chance that we might actually see him in his classic orange and green tights.

ComicBookMovie has found a picture of a maquette that has the face of Momoa but the costume of the classic Aquaman from the comics. Check it out:

I'm thinking it's some sort of suit that Atlanteans wear underneath the armor — much like the Kryptonians and their suits in Man of Steel. If that were the case, it would be a fun nod, and I'd like to see this new Arthur Curry address all the sh*t he's taken from the fandom over the years. Even Bruce Wayne was making fun of him with that "I hear you can talk to fish" remark.

On the flip side, I'm thinking that this is a revamp of the comic character, and he'll be looking a lot more grizzled to match Momoa's appearance in the movie. The same thing happens all the time with Marvel comics. When Jeremy Renner's Hawkeye became more noticeable, the Hawkeye in the comics stopped wearing his trademark mask; when Chris Pratt's Star-Lord became a thing, the comic version of Peter Quill ditched his space cop uniform for a trench coat that looks similar to the one from the movie.

Hopefully the suit pops up somewhere in the DCEU movies so we can stop all the speculation.

Justice League comes out Nov. 17, and Aquaman hits theaters July 27, 2018.
