Aquaman star Amber Heard has been working hard to live up to the role of Mera, training her body and reading up on DC comics revolving around Aquaman. Now that the watery DC Extended Universe installment has begun filming, director James Wan has been showing off bits and pieces of the production on social media.
The latest Aquaman picture that the popular horror movie director has shared gives fans their first look at Heard as the Queen of Atlantis as he declares his first day working with the stunning American actress. "Lady MERA swept in from the sea. First day with the exquisite Amber Heard," reads Wan's caption.

The photo doesn't give away too much information about the film with Heard standing on a pier, however it does give fans their first look at Mera fresh from the ocean. Wearing her iconic skintight suit with dripping hair shining under the moonlight, Heard looks very much like the regal underwater queen.
Aside from Aquaman, fans will also get to see a bit of Mera in the DCEU's upcoming Justice League.
Starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller, Raymond Fisher, Amy Adams, Willem Dafoe, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen and J.K. Simmons, Justice League comes smashing in cinemas on November 17. Aquaman on the other hand comes swimming into inemas on July 27, 2018.
