Are the Darth Maul Actors Teasing an Appearance in The Mandalorian Season 2?

It had been said that the second season of The Mandalorian will feature some more familiar faces from the Skywalker Saga, and now some fans are speculating that the two actors who play Darth Maul are hinting at their involvement in Season 2.

After the finale, Ray Park and Sam Witwer (the voice of Maul), had posted these:

Just in case Witwer's post wasn't clear, he's talking about the Darksaber, which was revealed to be in the possession of Moff Gideon in the finale episode of The Mandalorian. We don't know how exactly he gets his hands on it, but with the Mandos supposedly getting the saber in Rebels, Gideon may have done something nefarious to be able to steal it away from them.

As for Maul's involvement with it, he had actually wielded it back in The Clone Wars and was still in possession of it when he was introduced in Rebels.

The thing is though, Maul died on Tatooine before the events of A New Hope, so he's pretty much dead in the timeline of The Mandalorian. Then again, maybe he can appear in a flashback. Maybe Gideon talks to Maul and that's how he was able to track down the Darksaber.

Again, I'm just spitballing here, but I think the Darksaber is going to be an important McGuffin in the second season, counting its connection to Mandalorian history.

For now, the second season of The Mandalorian is set to come out on Disney+ in the fall of 2020.
