Prince Harry and Prince William grew up close. Their close-knit bond was often seen in photos from when they were little until they were grown-ups. However, things started to change, and they've grown apart in recent years. But were they friends?

In their old photos and clips, the two brothers played the piano with their late mother, Princess Diana, at Kensington Palace.
King Charles was even seen playing with them. In one of the snaps obtained by Insider, the Prince of Wales even assisted his little brother as he was learning to walk.
The family even enjoyed outdoor activities.
Come 1995; the siblings boarded the same school, Eton College. They stuck together throughout the years when they were still both single.

Prince William even said they were uniquely bonded due to the things they had been through together.
They undertook military helicopter training together in 2009 and shared a cottage during the training.
Prince Harry was the best man at Prince William and Kate Middleton's wedding in 2011 and even became their third wheel.

The Rift Between Prince Harry, Prince William
But despite the closeness Prince Harry and Prince William showed when they were young, it was said to be the opposite of what the public thought their bond was.
In his memoir Spare, the Duke of Sussex revealed that the heir to the throne didn't want anything to do with him when they went to Eton College together.
He wasn't even the future king's best man at his wedding, but his two friends, James Meade and Thomas Van Straubenzee.
Prince William wasn't even Prince Harry's best man at his wedding but his friend Charlie. They even argued in the lead-up to his marriage with Meghan, as his brother was upset that he was allowed to have his beard while he was ordered to shave his off.
To make matters worse, Prince Harry also revealed Prince William physically attacked him and called his wife "abrasive."
But despite everything said and done, Prince Harry still wanted his brother and father back.
