Archer: 1999 Set to Premiere in April

FX's Archer has gotten pretty experimental lately, giving us a bunch of anthology storylines with the past few seasons. After Dreamland and Danger Island, the next season promises to bring us to a whole new sci-fi setting with Archer 1999. What's good is, we finally have a premiere date.

This comes from Variety's Danielle Turchiano who confirmed the release date at TCA 2019:

The last season had ended with a teaser to the futuristic setting, and it's said that this new storyline will have Archer as the co-captain of the USS Figgis. Lana will be his co-captain, and the two are said to have gone through a nasty divorce. Mallory has turned into the ship's AI, with Cheryl playing a fighter pilot. Krieger has been upgraded into a synthetic android, Pam is a ‘brutish alienoid' and Ray is dubbed as the ‘loneliest courtesan' in the galaxy.

We don't know what Cyril's role in the series is, but judging that the ship is named after him, I'm guessing he's some kind of wealthy benefactor who owns the ship.

I do have to say, following the show since Season One, I miss the office banter that's been a trademark of the Archer for a while. These anthology seasons are pretty creative and fun, but I kind of want to see the story move forward. Did Archer survive his coma? How's Baby AJ?

Archer 10 premieres of FXX this coming April.
