Kukuru takes her denial of Gama Gama's imminent closure to the next level by literally shutting herself in and refusing to come out. Her grandfather decides to let her stay in as long as she can last, rather than force her out.

As a storm approaches, Fuuka decides to get in and bring Kukuru some food. Little did they know that they would be trapped in a horrible blackout that endangers the marine life they love so much.

At first, Kukuru acts cold towards Fuuka, still being unable to accept the fact that her new friend is soon going back to be a movie star. When the storm hits, however, they both have to work together to save the animals.

Seeing how close the animals came to death, Kukuru finally realizes that the current facility is not fit to keep them. After bottling up her feelings for so long, she acknowledges them and goes into a grieving process, but Fuuka reminds her that she and the animals still have a future.

Aquatope of White Sand Episode 12 is scheduled to air on Friday, the 24th of September for premium Crunchyroll users. Due to time zone differences, many international fans will be able to stream it from the 23rd of September depending on where they are in the world.

A dub has not yet been announced but this could change at any point - the show deserves it.
