Aquatope on White Sand is an original slice of life anime by Studio P. A. Works, telling a heartwarming coming-of-age tale and featuring some lovely animals while at it. Already, the 24-episode show is receiving some good reviews for its style and story, and some fans would like to see it dubbed in English. So, is Shiroi Suna no Aquatope dubbed, and when will the dub release?
First, a short overview; Aquatope on White Sand is a 24-episode anime that tells the story of two very different girls, who team up to save Gama Gama Aquarium. Kukuru is an 18-year-old high school student living her dream for a summer, while she works as a manager for her grandparents' aquarium.
Fuuka, a teenage girl, leaves Tokyo after failing as an idol and being fired. On a whim, she cancels her trip back home and goes to Okinawa, where she becomes enchanted by the aquarium and gets a job there as a live-in assistant.
Soon, she finds out Kukuru's secret: the aquarium is about to close due to a lack of money, and she hopes to save it. Fuuka, who has come to love the aquarium, promises to help her achieve her own dream, finding a new dream of her own in the process.
Aquatope on White Sand is currently simulcast on Crunchyroll, where you can watch it online with English subtitles. At the time of writing, the dub has unfortunately not been announced, though we should keep our hopes up for that, as the show is already getting some good reviews.
At this point in the pandemic, we've grown used to expecting delays in all cultural activities, so it's hard to predict if, and when the dub of Shiroi Suna no Aquatope will start airing, especially since Crunchyroll specializes in subbed, rather than dubbed anime.
Of course, this is not to say that Crunchyroll never does dubs, so an announcement could come sooner rather than later. At this point, we can only speculate, but we'll make sure to let you know immediately when we have definitive news about the English dub of Aquatope on White Sand.
