Tension rises as the defamation trial between ex-spouses Johnny Depp and Aquaman star Amber Heard gets highly publicized airing daily on Court TV and being available for streaming online. A new allegation arises as Heard accuses her ex-husband of sexual assault which surprised everyone who are following the case.
In a report for Rolling Stone, Amber Heard’s attorneys dropped the accusation which they called "a three-day blackout in which he abused and sexually assaulted Amber." The lawyers of Johnny Depp countered the allegation claiming it to be false, "Ms. Heard had never made that accusation against Mr. Depp — it was never part of her allegations of abuse in 2016.”
A sexual assault accusation is, in itself, a serious allegation, and it needs to be highly scrutinized by the court to make sure that it is not a sham nor fictitious. The attorneys of Depp added, "In Mr. Depp’s fifty-eight years, not a single woman has ever accused him of violence, and nobody in Hollywood or the world had any reason to believe he was an abuser – until Ms. Heard publicly accused him."
The lawyer of Heard, Ben Rottenborn, puts the blame on Depp saying, “It’s not about which party can sling more mud. But you’re going to hear a lot of that in this trial. You’re going to hear that because that’s what Mr. Depp wants to turn this case into. He wants to turn this case into a six-week-long public spectacle of the most intimate aspects of their relationship and their marriage.”

For sure, no one knows what is behind closed doors when it comes to relationships and more often than not, the two sides of the story turn out to be like that of a coin, it is never the same. While one party would claim something, the other is quite expected to deny it. In this case, Depp and Heard’s marriage is one of the many relationships that fell out because of the same coin, only theirs is highly publicized.
Heard and Depp’s marriage fell into shambles after both parties claimed the faults of one another and definitely, it has affected both their lives in all aspects, even their showbusiness careers as Depp resigned from his film and fans call for his return while Heard’s appearance on Aquaman is being called for by the fans to be retracted from the film.
It all goes down to how the court will be taking the allegations and accusations made by each party. For sure, evidence will be weighed and whoever gets the favorable decision would have convinced the court and the jurors fair and square. The trial is being heard in Fairfax County, Virginia. It will be attended by high-profile witnesses such as Elon Musk, James Franco, and Paul Bettany.
