The upcoming Aquaman sequel has been mired in controversy as of late and if the latest rumors are to be believed, the anticipated project which will close out the DCEU's chapter for good won't be able to match the success of the first one. In case you didn't know, test screenings for Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom haven't been received with the same level of enthusiasm as say, The Flash and it's raising major concern within the fandom.

One insider also claims that Amber Heard is the film's only saving grace which is incredibly surprising considering she was given a minimal role in the sequel. Now, the folks over at Giant Freakin Robot followed up on the test screening reports, claiming that several people who have seen the film "walked out" because the film was that terrible.

As it stands, WB Discovery and DC Studios have yet to address the matter so it's still best to take this one with a huge grain of salt. Then again, top executives have been very vocal about how pleased they are with The Flash so I guess that says everything you need to know.

In case you weren't aware, Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom underwent several reshoots over the course of its production and some are speculating that may have led to the film generating poor test screening results. Considering the film is still months away from its release, there's still time for James Wan and his team to do some last-minute tweaking to at least improve the final cut.

Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom is slated for theatrical release on December 25, 2023.
