The month of November officially marks the launch of the newest streaming platform, Apple TV+. With multiple streaming services launching very soon, including Disney+ and HBO Max, how would Apple TV+ stand out amongst the others?

Things are heating up since Disney+ will be launching 11 days following Apple TV+. But if anything, Apple's streaming platform is actually the cheapest one compared to the other platforms. With $4.99 per month, it's surprisingly less when placed side by side with HBO Max, which is $14.99 a month, Amazon Prime at $12.99, and one of the most popular platforms, Netflix, which charges $8.99 per month for a basic plan. Given that Apple products are seen as a bit expensive, it's surprising that their platform is strikingly cheap.

With that said, even though it's the cheapest option, Apple TV+ might lack in selection. For now, there are eight originals available. New episodes will be available at launch for Dickinson,For All Mankind, Ghostwriter, Helpsters, Oprah's Book Club,See,Snoopy in Space, and The Morning Show. A documentary film titled The Elephant Queen will also be released. Of course, as the months pass by, more shows will be available to stream.

As for the audience, Apple says there are more than 1 billion active iOS devices worldwide, and if the platform is effectively promoted to the users, Apple TV+ would gain a lot of subscribers in no time (via NBC News). However, it will be a bit hard to build an audience especially since the competition is at high stakes.

Disney+ will release classic Disney shows, and even the whole Marvel and Star Wars library, among many other original shows, films, and third-party projects. HBO Max will also have classics available, and shows such as Game of Thrones, Friends, Big Bang Theory, South Park, and Doctor Who. Adult Swim Cartoon Network shows will be available under HBO Max too. Netflix, as we all know, has a huge collection of both original and third party shows and films. Amazon Prime also gives access to quality shows such as The Man in the High Castle, Jack Ryan, and Bosch. Lastly, Hulu, which also streams fan-favorites such as Castle Rock, The Handmaid's Tale, and Marvel's Runaways.

Apple TV+ would have to really step up their game, and since very few shows are only available, and with no back catalog, it might be a bit hard to do so.

But, at the end of the day, it would all boil down to the audience's preferences. With 7 major streaming platforms to choose from, Apple TV+ isn't the only one that needs to work to stand out. Instead, all these services should prove their edge and how they differentiate from all these platforms.

Apple TV+ is now available at $4.99 per month.
