This is large because of the profit participation clauses that are included in their respective contracts. This allows them to earn a percentage in the box office returns. The franchise is always to get big numbers every time they release a movie.

In fact, some of the main top earners in 2019 have been dominated by the cast members of Avengers: Endgame. The list included Chris Evans, Robert Downey JrBradley Cooper, Chris Hemsworth, Paul Rudd, and Scarlett Johansson were able to take home a combined total of more than $350 million. One of the reasons includes the fact that actors will be getting a massive pay raise is because the actor will be taking on top billing in an MCU movie. Top billing a possible Captain America 4 will surely lead the actor to be compensated well after playing a supporting role over the past.

The first Captain America trilogy garnered over $2.2 billion in the box office. Chris Evans' upfront salary began from $300,000 in The First Avenger to $15 million for Civil War. This is further proof that Mackie's pay would rise, in addition to the fact that he just came off from the successful Disney+ series.
