Anthony Mackie recently got candid about starring in his upcoming solo MCU film Captain America: Brave New World.
After taking the mantle of Captain America in the final episode of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Sam Wilson is taking on a solo quest for his next adventure in the MCU.
The film is set to arrive in theaters early next after delaying its release from its original date this year. Reports have claimed that it is set to undergo reshoots soon and Marvel Studios has hired a new writer for additional material.

Anthony Mackie Shares His Disappointment About Captain America: Brave New World
Speaking with Radio Times, Mackie revealed that he felt disappointed when The Falcon and the Winter Soldier did not get a second season as he would have wanted to spend more time with Sebastian Stan and Daniel Brühl.
"The Falcon and [the] Winter Soldier, I really enjoyed doing that show. I was actually excited to do a second season, just so me and Sebastian [Stan] can get paid to hang out," he said.
"Because it's like me, him and Daniel Brühl. It's kind of like the perfect storm of happiness."
With the absence of Stan and Bruhl in Captain America: Brave New World, Mackie candidly shared that it "dampens" his experience making the film.
"When they decided to go back to the movies, it is what it is, but I don't have my friends anymore, so it kind of dampens it a little bit," he admitted.
There is no doubt that Mackie has become close friends with Stan and Brühl so it is understandable to hear his disappointment over their absence in the upcoming MCU film.
A lot of fans would have also loved to see them appear together again in Captain America: Brave New World. However, that doesn't seem to be the case and we can expect Sam Wilson to have new partners on his solo adventure.
Hopefully, we will see another Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes team-up in a future MCU project since they have proven effective chemistry and it is one of the friendships that fans have loved since the Infinity Saga.
Captain America: Brave New World is set to release in theaters on February 14, 2025.
