The release date of Captain America: Brave New World was recently delayed to 2025 as reports claimed that the film is set to do weeks of reshoots next year and give Marvel Studios more time to make sure that it will be in better shape.
While reshoots are normally part of the production schedule of an MCU project, some fans have speculated that the backlash on the quality of the recent outputs of the franchise may have something to do with the changes in the upcoming film.
So far, it is unknown yet the extent of reshoots that the film will do and whether there will be significant changes in the story.
Now, we have a new update on the film that reveals a major behind-the-scenes change ahead of its reshoots next year.

Captain America: Brave New Worlds Hires Moon Knight Writer for Reshoots
According to Deadline, Marvel Studios has hired Moon Knight writer Matthew Orton to pen additional scenes and material that will be filmed in the upcoming reshoots of Captain America: Brave New World.
The additional photography is currently scheduled to take place around spring to summer of 2024.
The Falcon and the Winter Soldier writers Dalan Musson and Malcolm Spellman penned the earlier drafts of the script before Orton came on board.
This update suggests that there might be major changes happening in the story which is why they hired a new writer for the additional material that they will film on the reshoots.
Given the secrecy of the project, we can't speculate what changes or additional material are they working on for the film, but at the very least, we know that they are working hard on improving the story and hopefully resulting in a better quality than before.
It is an interesting development that we will be looking out for in the coming months. There's no doubt that Marvel Studios is in a crucial moment right now as they know that they can't release projects that have middling quality.
Captain America: Brave New World is slated for release in theaters on February 14, 2025.
