For the past few months, Star Wars' C-3PO star Anthony Daniels has been sending out cryptic Star Wars tweets. Without any major Star Wars: Episode IX news from Lucasfilm, fans have been hoping that these posts pertain to the sequel trilogy installment's title (or possibly even the film's trailer release). However, it seems like Daniel's post might have very little to do with Episode IX.
Earlier today, the legendary Star Wars actor took to Twitter to post another coded message, adding on to the string of cryptic tweets that he's been sharing the past few months. However, the message mentions a few key notes – Daniels hasn't been referring to any sort of Episode IX spoiler, title or trailer.
"IX SPOILER … NOT…TITLE …NOT …TRAILER NOT….. IMPORTANT… IS… NOT QUITE SURE… LOOKS LIKE OLD CODE….. D EG HTTOIUNAI DM ENALILON ETCT T NTCW AL TDOEEIGBI LR BHCNHNOAG AI AICNIEE…. REMEMBER… YOU ARE YOUR ONLY HOPE TILL… COMS FAILING… WEAK SIGNAL… INCO" Daniels wrote on his post.
A Star Wars fan cracked Daniel's little code, realizing that the Star Wars actor was actually posting an anagram. The fan shared the results on Reddit, and the answer might disappoint the rest of the fanbase.
"I AM DELIGHTED TO ANNOUNCE THAT I WILL BE ATTENDING CELEBRATION IN CHICAGO," the fan deciphered.
As exciting as it might sound to have Daniels at this year's Star Wars Celebration, fans were hoping for new tidbits about Episode IX. Guess all that waiting was for nothing.
Star Wars: Episode IX premieres December 20, 2019.
