Last week, Ant-Man star Evangeline Lilly shared an Instagram post, saying that her children were continuing their gymnastic camps despite the recommendation to self-quarantine amidst the coronavirus. The post got quite a backlash, even from her Lost co-star Maggie Grace as well as Game of Thrones' Sophie Turner. Now, the actress took to Instagram once again to talk about the matter, but this time, she has issued a heartfelt apology.

Her new post comes about over a week following her controversial coronavirus comments. She has pointed out that she is aware of the insensitivity in her post, and sends her direct apologies to those who are most affected by the pandemic. "I never meant to hurt you," the actress wrote. "When I wrote that post 10 days ago, I thought I was infusing calm into the hysteria. I can see now that I was projecting my own fears into an already fearful and traumatic situation."

Lilly says she is "grieved by the ongoing loss of life" and is "concerned for our communities." "I am trying to follow responsible recommendations for how to help," she added. "Like many of you, I fear for the political aftermath of this pandemic, and I am praying for us all." That said, the actress is also "heartened by the beauty and humanity" that people are "demonstrating forward" during such an unfortunate time.

The MCU actor also pointed out that she is doing her part to flatten the curve, and is practicing social distancing whilst staying home with her family. "Sending love to all of you," she wrote. "Even if you can't return it right now."

With everything that's happening right now, we wish those who are suffering from COVID-19 a speedy recovery, and a huge thank you to the frontliners.
