Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania Star Details How Cassie Faces Kang the Conqueror

One of the most surprising developments in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is the involvement of Scott Lang’s (Paul Rudd) teenage daughter, Cassie Lang (Kathryn Newton) as part of his team alongside Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lilly) in the Quantum Realm. While the teaser trailers so far have been showing Scott facing off Kang the Conqueror, the Cassie Lang actress teases that even her character is bound to have a face-off with the new Thanos of the MCU.

In an interview with Fandango, Newton reiterates that her teenage character is treading new waters, therefore, everything is new to her. Like many teenagers, Cassie believes that while she may not entirely know what she’s doing, she believes what she is doing is right and her main goal is to become a hero like her father. Check out Newton’s full quote below:

“[Cassie Lang] has no idea what she’s doing,” Newton said, “She has no idea what she’s doing. She wants to be a hero, and she’s face-to-face with the biggest supervillain of all time. It’s just — she’s gonna learn some lessons.”

Though MCU fans remain bitter on the Cassie Lang recast, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is set to make or break Kathryn Newton’s debut in the MCU as Cassie Lang, which will let the viewers decide on whether they like the new Cassie or not.

Meanwhile, Newton continued on to describe that her character is “impatient” and “a mess” in which, similarly to what she told in a 2022 interview, Cassie is “not ready, but she thinks she is.” Overall, Newton summarizes that Cassie Lang “...doesn’t understand what it means to be a hero. She doesn’t understand what it’s like to deal with a villain. Now, she’s face-to-face with Kang and she’s gotten all the people she loves in trouble. She has no idea what’s going to happen.”

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania opens Marvel Phase Five on February 17 this year.
