Kang the Conqueror's much-awaited debut in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania has everyone in a chokehold and understandably so. However, some fans are overlooking the fact that the Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly team-up film will also mark the first live-action appearance of one of Marvel's most seasoned villains, none other than the "Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing" aka MODOK.

Of course, diehard readers of the comics are incredibly stoked about his arrival but some of them could end up being enraged, especially after seeing the character's drastic design change for the Phase 5 opener.

Rumors about the studio's decision to drastically change MODOK's live-action design first sparked a few months ago. Now, an upcoming Funko Pop! figure wave for Ant-Man 3 has made its way online, confirming that the bizarre character is indeed being given a makeover — something comic book fans may not be ready for.

MODOK's new design is far from his equally iconic and grotesque look from the comics and other media. It appears that the killing organism is more mechanical than his comic book counterpart. Honestly, as bizarre and horrifying as the "original" MODOK design is, I still prefer that one over his new look. Check it out here:

Rumor has it that the villain from the first Ant-Man film Darren Cross (played by Corey Stoll) will return in Quantumania to portray MODOK. As it stands, nothing has officially been confirmed yet but the idea of the former Yellowjacket evolving into something else in the Quantum Realm isn't something too farfetched to believe.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is slated for theatrical release on February 17, 2023.
