The Marvel Cinematic Universe's Phase Four has already established Kang the Conqueror as a force to be reckoned with but we've yet to get a true taste of what he's truly capable of. The villain, formerly known as "He Who Remains" will make his official debut in Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania and if his wasn't enough, the third film will also feature the arrival of MODOK.

As it stands, it remains unclear who breathes life into the "Mechanized Organism Designed Only for Killing" in the MCU but an alleged art from the Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly film has spawned a pretty interesting theory surrounding the identity of the iconic Marvel baddie.

The art in question comes from an alleged merch for Ant-Man 3 and it features a rather peculiar take on the already bizzare-looking character. While this version of MODOK still essentially carries the comics design of the character, he interestingly sports a mask, hiding his grotesque face.

This led to speculation within the fandom that Marvel Studios is setting up a huge reveal for MODOK, with Darren Cross (played by Corey Stoll) possibly being the man behind the mechanical mask. Check out some of the tweets below:

As it stands, the authenticity of the said merch has yet to be confirmed so it's best to keep expectations low. However, assuming Darren does return in Quantumania, the idea that he gets transformed into MODOK inside the Quantum realm doesn't sound too farfetched. I mean, the word "quantum" is already a dead giveaway.

Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania is slated to hit cinemas on February 17, 2023.
