Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind looks like it's going to please every Kingdom Hearts fan out there, whether you liked or hated the third installment of this long-running franchise. The fact that they opened with Final Fantasy characters was a very smart move and now fans are curious if they'll be able to explore Radiant Garden/Hollow Bastion. We're also curious if there will be more Final Fantasy characters and Famitsu does have us covered.
Thanks to Famitsu (via KH Insider), we now know that Cid from Final Fantasy VII will return in the DLC. This probably isn't a huge surprise to anyone who has played a Kingdom Hearts game since he has always been part of the same committee as Leon, Yuffie, and Aerith so we should have expected him when those three were confirmed.
It was also confirmed that the Fairy Godmother from Cinderella will also be returning, though we have to wonder what kind of role she will play. In the first game, she did help players summon the ermm, Summons but has only offered moral support since then. Still, seeing another classic Kingdom Hearts/Disney character return is always great and could also confirm Merlin, who didn't appear at all in Kingdom Hearts 3.
Fingers crossed that Cloud Strife and Sephiroth return in the DLC as well. It would be an excellent way to hype up March's Final Fantasy VII Remake but that's just me.
Kingdom Hearts 3 Re:Mind will come to PS4 on January 23, 2020, on PS4 and will arrive on Xbox One the following month. The base version of Kingdom Hearts 3, which is needed to play Re:Mind, is available now on PS4 and Xbox One.
