Anna Kendrick Compares Shooting Twilight to a ‘Hostage Situation’

Anna Kendrick may be one of the biggest Hollywood stars now, but back in the late 2000s, she was playing Bella's friend Jessica in the Twilight movies. As bleak as the movie looks onscreen, Kendrick reveals she was actually miserable shooting the film.

During a breakdown of her career on Vanity Fair, Kendrick had this to say about working on Twilight:

"The first [‘Twilight'] we filmed in Portland, Oregon, and I just remember being so cold and miserable… And I just remember my Converse being completely soaked through and feeling like, ‘You know, this is a really great group of people and I'm sure that we would be friends at a different time, but I want to murder everyone.'"

Though Kendrick didn't love the experience of shooting the film, she did emphasize that she jas some kind of shared bond with the people she had worked with. She continues, "… it was also kind of bonding. There was something about it, like if you go through some trauma event. Like you imagine people who survive a hostage situation, and you're kind of bonded for life."

If anything, Kendrick is far from her supporting character days and has become an icon for young women herself. Besides being the face of the Pitch Perfect films, she's also the voice of the hit animated franchise Trolls. Now she can be seen in the HBO Max series Love Life.
