Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt are still fighting over the custody of their children. And it seems the end is still nowhere in sight for the exes. After all, the California Supreme Court just denied the actor’s petition to review the court’s ruling regarding Judge John W. Ouderkirk.
The judge was previously removed from Angelina Jolie and Pitt’s custody case after he failed to disclose his business relationship with the actor’s legal team. Pitt’s counsel insisted that this does not have any impact on the case, but the Supreme Court believed otherwise, according to Us Weekly.
The recent hiccup in Jolie and Pitt’s custody battle means that the A-listers need to restart the entire process from scratch. A decision won’t likely be made until the next couple of years, and it’s possible that the exes’ minor children will already be adults by then.
Brad Pitt Thinks Angelina Jolie Has No Sympathy
National Enquirer, in its Nov. 22 issue, claimed that Pitt is terribly hurt over the ongoing custody battle because it means that he still can’t spend as much time as he wants with his children. The Once Upon A Time In Hollywood actor also, allegedly, thinks that his ex-wife is cruel for not allowing him to be part of their children’s lives.
Pitt was reportedly heartbroken when he saw his children with their mom on the red carpet for the premiere of The Eternals. But what hurt him the most was the fact that Jolie seemed to be crowing.
“He feels like his family has been torn from him, and his children have been poisoned against him. Angie has no sympathy and feels he’s gotten what he deserves,” an unnamed source said.
Angelina Jolie’s Selfishness With Have A Negative Impact On Her Kids
A psychologist named Dr. Carol Lieberman weighed in on Jolie’s alleged tactics to keep her children away from their dad.
“As a forensic psychologist who has testified in countless divorce and custody cases, I want Angelina to know that by fighting Brad so aggressively for custody, she is leaving indelible scars on her kids. She also needs to recognize she’s being selfish by turning them against their father just to take her own revenge,” Lieberman said.
Angelina Jolie’s Contradicting Statements
During a previous interview, Jolie said that she wants her entire family – including Pitt to heal from all the negative things that happened to them in the past.
“It’s not that I want to talk about anything really, because I just want my family to heal. And I want everyone to move forward – all of us, including their dad. I want us to heal and be peaceful. We’ll always be a family,” she told The Guardian.
However, the publication called Jolie complex and at times contradictory, which is a fitting description for the actress. After all, she previously revealed that her children wanted to give their testimonies against their dad.
In a 2020 court document, Jolie said – through her lawyers - that three of her six children have asked to testify in the custody proceedings. The Maleficent: Mistress of Evil did not reveal which of her three kids wanted to testify, but it’s obvious that she was referring to Maddox, Pax, and Zahara.
“The children whose custody is at issue are old enough to understand what is going on. The trial is necessarily going to impact them emotionally. To make any of the children endure what may be a futile and void proceeding is beyond unjustified. It is cruel,” the lawyers said.
Jolie and Pitt’s children’s request was not granted by their former judge, Ouderkirk. Following his decision, the actress released a statement through her lawyers accusing the judge of denying the actress a fair trial.
Since Ouderkirk no longer serves as a judge in Jolie and Pitt’s custody battle, it’s possible for the new judge to allow the exes’ kids to testify against the Ad Astra actor.
