Androids, Super Saiyan Blue And Story Mode Confirmed For Dragon Ball FighterZ

Four new fighters and an original story have been confirmed for next year's Dragon Ball FighterZ by Arc System Works. Android 16 and 18 will be joining the roster, along with the Super Saiyan Blue (SSB) versions of Goku and Vegeta. They join Cell, Freeza, Future Trunks, Krillin, Majin Buu, Piccolo and Teen Gohan, as well as previously revealed versions of Goku and Vegeta.

According to Shonen Gamez, the news was shown in the most recent issue of Weekly Shonen Jump. It seems like story mode will focus on a revived version of Android 16, who must be defeated by Goku and the rest of the Z Warriors. Not much else was detailed, and it will be interesting to see how the other villains are added to the mix.

While Androids 16 and 18 are official, 17 might not be joining the roster despite his prominence in the current arc of Dragon Ball Super.Gematsu stated that 17 will appear for Android 18's finisher the "Accel Dance," but that's about it. Speaking of finishers, fans can also expect "10x God Kamehameha" for SSB Goku, "Final Flash" for SSB Vegeta and "Hell Flash" for the newly revived Android 16.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is slated for release sometime in 2018 for PS4, Xbox One and PC. A closed beta will run from September 16 to 18. Fans can register for the beta on August 22.
