A recently-published magazine spread for Dragon Ball Super in Japan included some interesting facts about the anime's latest arc. Translator Todd Blankenship shared some details to English-speaking fans, and he revealed why Yamcha was absent in the Tournament of Power.

Apparently, it's Goku's fault. "Yamcha: Goku never asked," Blankenship said.

"Yamcha: Goku never asked," Blankenship told fans on Twitter. He also revealed why other characters were snubbed. Mr. Sathan withdrew his own offer, and Videl didn't make it because Gohan might not approve.

Yamcha may be absent in the Tournament of Power but that doesn't mean he won't be in Dragon Ball Super's future episodes. Earlier this summer, Toshio Yoshita, the Japanese who provides the voice for Yamcha revealed that he recorded a lot of lines for the character.

According to an invitation that Goku gets, Zen-Oh (Omni King) is starting a martial arts tournament between all the universes called "Chikara no Taikai" (Tournament of Power). Dragon Ball Super is set to air on Crunchyroll Saturdays at 7:15 p.m. CST. Toonami still airs the English dub of Dragon Ball Super on Adult Swim Saturdays at 11:30 p.m.
